Richard has been involved in training and speaking for most of his life. He was originally on course towards an eduction degree but, as happens to many of us, was waylaid by technology. He has spent time as a Hang Gliding instructor, taught first aid, and CPR as well as various music related topics. In the past 12 years he has spoken and thought on technology topics throughout the Northwest. He now focuses on Plone and Asterisk. He spoke at the first Plone conference and has been presenting on Plone for the last 4 years.

Requirements

You should be familiar with Plone, either as an advanced user, or someone who has received prior training like Joel Burtons Plone Bootcamp or other introductory trainings. You are not required to know UML, Python, or Archetypes but it will help you get the most from this training if you take a look at these three items.

Materials

Every student will receive companion spiral bound book that includes the topics covered in the class and other reference material.

Additional Important Points

  • WiFi Internet connectivity will be provided throughout the training.
  • Coffee, Tea, and other beverages will be provided during the training.
  • A boxed lunch will be provided each day of the training. Make sure you indicate if you have a preference for vegetarian when you register.
  • You should bring a laptop with you so you can follow along. You should have a clean install of either Zope 2.8.7 or 2.9.3, Plone 2.1.3 installed and functional. You should also have either ArgoUML or Poseidon for UML installed.
  • You will need the latest copy of ArchGenXML.
